It is an understatement to say that relationships such as marriages have been under strain during the pandemic. What about partners who also struggle with mental health issues? Sarah Griffith Lund’s new book, Blessed Union: Breaking the Silence About Mental Illness and Marriage breaks the silence about mental illness within a quarter of all marriages.
From the publisher Chalice Press’s website:
“In Blessed Union, pastor and acclaimed mental health and disabilities advocate Sarah Griffith Lund explores the impact mental illness has on our most intimate relationships, why it happens, and what we can do about it. Weaving personal stories with reflection, spiritual insights, education, prayers, relationship tips, and expert advice, Lund offers an encouraging, practical, and healing resource for couples and those who journey with them.”
Pastor Lund is not only a parish pastor in the UCC, but a Minister for Disabilities and Mental Health Justice for the United Church of Christ.
