It was only a few years ago that digital ministry seemed like an uncertain reality. Now we know enough to realize it’s here to stay. How do we blend the very best of online and offline in a way that builds connection to God, self, and others? It’s time to find out.
But that doesn’t mean it’s easy or that it will always feel comfortable. As church people, we’re not unfamiliar with wanting things to stay the same. We have an idea of what works, and we may even enjoy the sense of security that comes from “the way it’s always been done.”
But it’s impossible to grow and stay the same. Refusing the change is a recipe for becoming stagnant, and none of us want that. The digital reformation is already happening. It’s in the air all around us, and it’s time for us to take a deep breath.
