Join Grace Pomroy, Director of the Stewardship Leaders Program at Luther Seminary, to learn about alternative financial models for ministry. Over the last few years, Grace has spent time doing research with over a hundred congregations who have found more financially sustainable models for ministry that are deeply connected with God’s mission for their congregation. Together, we’ll explore how God might be calling your congregation to use its resources to fulfill its mission in new ways.

Grace Duddy Pomroy is the Director of the Stewardship Leaders Program at Luther Seminary. She’s a lay, millennial stewardship leader, speaker, and financial educator based in Allyn, WA. She is the co-author of the stewardship book, Embracing Stewardship: How to Put Stewardship at the Heart of Your Congregation’s Life, as well as author of the free 2013 ELCA stewardship resource, “Stewards of God’s Love.” Her latest book, Funding Forward: A Pathway to More Sustainable Models for Ministry, was just released September 2024. Grace is also a consultant with Relèven, a charitable organization that lovingly preserves, restores, and repurposes under-utilized churches into community hubs and affordable housing.

Rob Muthiah
Director of Leadership Development

Dr. Rob Muthiah’s work specializes in theology, congregational leadership practices, multiculturalism and race, Christian ethics, environmental justice, missional ecclesiology, and empowering the whole people of God.

Dr. Muthiah has taught at Azusa Pacific Graduate School of Theology and Fuller Theological Seminary, where he taught classes such as Foundations for Ministry Life, Ethics and Worship, Transitions in Ministry, Empowering the People of God, Leadership and Diversity, and more.

He has published multiple articles such as “Lament as Antiracism Work” in The Christian Century, and “Surfacing Emotions to Teach Leadership” in the Journal of Religious Leadership.

Dr. Muthiah has earned degrees from Taylor University (B.A.), Northern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Fuller Theological Seminary (Ph.D.). He is an ordained minister in the Mennonite Church and has served as a pastor at Breckenridge Christian Ministries and Pasadena Mennonite Church. As a church and community leader he enjoys serving meals to the homeless, mentoring youth, and participating in local events advocating for peace and justice issues.
