Coaching for Spirit-Led Leadership II is an intensive, eight-week online learning community designed for those who have completed (or are in the process of completing) Coaching for Spirit-Led Leadership. You’ll dive into advanced coaching concepts, gain hands-on experience, and receive real-time feedback in a spiritually grounded, practice-based learning environment.

Whether you're seeking credentialing or simply want to lead more collaboratively, this course will help you embody the heart of a coach, empowering others to step into their callings.

Session Schedule

This 8-session course is designed for alumni of Coaching for Spirit-Led Leadership (formerly known as Segment One Coaching) and others who are ready to grow through doing. You’ll coach, be coached, and observe others—building confidence through experience and feedback. You’ll also gain clarity around next steps in your coaching journey, including credentialing if desired.

Participants will review and engage in conversation around the basic coaching skills needed to have a coaching stance as a part of their leadership

Get to Know Your Instructor

Dawn Alitz

Dawn Alitz

Director of Coaching

The Rev. Dr. Alitz’s expertise is in the area of adult faith formation, coaching, and program coordination. Before joining the Luther staff in 2016, she had over twenty years of experience in congregational leadership in both mission-start and established congregations.

She has her ACC credentialing with the International Coaching Federation, trained with the Global Team Coaching Institute, and is well-known within ELCA and ecumenical circles for her work with adaptive leadership, developing online learning opportunities, and collaborating with various networks of educational and synodical professionals. Dr. Alitz’s role at Luther places her in a unique position to equip leaders to engage the Gospel in the 21st century by designing, piloting, and building out new business models for theological education and congregational leadership.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this learning experience live only, or are there asynchronous components?

This is a synchronous course. Participants should plan on attending the Zoom sessions live and be prepared for active engagement each class.

What is the structure for actual, live coaching practice?

Each participant will be expected to coach a classmate live in front of the class at least once during the course.

What if I need to miss a session?

Participants can miss up to 2 non-required sessions and still receive credentialing credit for this course by watching the class video and submitting coaching observations.
