Wesley W. Ellis
Rev. Dr. Wesley Ellis is the Pastor of First Congregational Church in Ramona, California. He also serves as a Visiting Instructor for Children, Youth, and Family Ministry at Luther Seminary and as Managing Editor of Flourish: A Journal of Progressive Ministry. He holds a Ph.D. in Practical Theology from the University of Aberdeen, an M.Div. and an MA in Christian Education from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor’s in Theology and Biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific University. He is the author of Abiding in Amen: Prayer in a Secular Age, which explores why prayer feels so difficult for so many people today and argues that the problem is not a lack of discipline or effort, but a deeper cultural and theological one rooted in modernity’s obsession with control, productivity, and human agency. Wes lives in Ramona with his wife Amanda and their two children, Henry and Bonnie.
