Author, pastor, and retired Army chaplain

Jeff Zust is a pastor with 38 years ordained experience in the Southwest Minnesota and Rocky Mountain Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). He retired from active duty as an Army chaplain in 2019 where he completed 26 years of active-duty and 7 years of reserve service in the Air Force and the Army. He supported deployments to Egypt, Somalia, Kuwait, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He has published multiple articles on Moral Injury and he is co-author with Dr. Duane Larson of the book Care for the Sorrowing Soul. Jeff is currently on leave from call in the Rocky Mountain Synod as he finishes his PhD at the University of Denver/Iliff Seminary. He is married to Chom Pun Zust, and they have 5 children and six grandchildren which they regularly visit from their home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
