Jihyun is a 1.5-generation Korean American who is an ordained minister of the PC(USA). She currently serves as Director of Mid Council Ministries and Assistant Stated Clerk in the Office of the General Assembly of the PC(USA). Prior to denominational work, she served congregations as interim pastor, associate pastor, and parish associate, and served the patients, families, and staff in the ICU’s of a Level I Trauma hospital as a chaplain. She is passionate about rethinking the mission and ministry of churches and pastoral leaders to meet the transformative and reformative challenges of Christ’s Church within a society in transition. Part of her task in her current role is to proactively imagine ways to bridge the gap between the Church that was and the Church that is and is still becoming.
