This year the ELCA is celebrating 50 years since the ordination of the first white woman, 40 years since the ordination of the first African-American woman, and 10 years since the ordination of the first LGBTQ woman in our church body and its predecessors.

In honor of the 50-40-10 milestones, leaders from the Southwest Minnesota Synod of the ELCA hosted a virtual service that premiered this past Sunday afternoon online. Participants included several who have written posts for The Faith+Leader: Melissa Melnick Gonzalez, Sally Messner and Yolanda Denson-Byers.
