Rev. Dr. Wesley Ellis is the Pastor of First Congregational Church in Ramona, California. He is the author of Abiding in Amen: Prayer in a Secular Age, which explores why prayer feels so difficult for so many people today and argues that the problem is not a lack of discipline or effort, but a deeper cultural and theological one rooted in modernity’s obsession with control, productivity, and human agency.
